What to Wear {part 3}

The last session reminded me how I needed to do another What to Wear post! Chelsea, blogger and fashionista extroidinairre, has come up with more great looks for me to share with you! I wanted to blog this set of outfits first because then if you look at the post below, it is a similar look so you can see how it translates in the photos. The Cousins stuck with greens and blues, but you can see that the camera loves those bold colors! I love the impact all of these primary colors make when layered together. The next set of outfits that I am going to blog is more subdued and boho-chic when put next to these- so it is really a matter of choice for you...but the most important thing is that you put a little bit of extra 'oomph' into your photo shoot outfit so that it is sure to photograph like a dream- no matter what sort of style you have. Cousins

Yes, I am still blogging mini-sessions! These little cousins were just the sweetest! Attention all parents of kids- THESE are the outfits you need to look at for inspiration! All of these little ones were coordinating without being matchy. It was absolutely perfect and exactly what I would recommend for family/kid sessions. Pick a color scheme and go with it- don't worry about things matching or being in the same style. In fact, it looks better if it is NOT the same style.

Bellyshoot-Lauren and Mike {Charlotte Maternity Photographer}

I'm pretty sure it is just a little inappropriate to talk about pregnant people being hot....but seriously, Lauren is one HOT pregnant lady! Expecting mothers all over the world are now completely jealous of her cute pregnant-ness. People, Lauren is 8 months in the photos and she is just so darn cute! Mike, he aint bad either- and the two of them sure do take some pretty pictures! February can be a crap-shoot as far as the weather goes, but boy did we luck out. Gorgeous day, glowy sun, a couple in love, a sweet baby girl on her way....I can't wait see what the future holds for them. Fall in love with these...

Family Love- The Rogers

It's been a while since I have photographer this amazing family. You will remember Katie (the gorgeous pregnant lady and now an even more gorgeous mom) and then there was sweet, four day old Elliot. How the time flies! Can we talk for five seconds about how Katie can literally pull off ANY hairstyle? Love this look! Elliot is such a fun age- and Mat and Katie are phenominal parents. Take in this cute family...

A Cake Affair

I am still going back and blogging some things that just didn't make it up here during the Christmas and Thailand hiatus/catch up period. Sadly, or not sadly because there will be lots of posts, I still have a ton to still work in between all the new stuff! First up are some loverly cakes from A Cake Affair. True Love- Emily and Eddie

Who would know it was February from looking at these photos! Emily and Eddie lucked out with some amazing weather and we had such a fantastic engagement session. I had a lot of favorites because they were just so darn cute together! And Emily, she tried to say she wasn't photogenic, but I disagree. strongly. These two have a comfortableness(is that a word?) that is tangible in these photos. They made my job easy...real easy. Have a wonderful President's Day!

Bae and Brett Day After- Morning

Our day after session started bright and early. Poor Bae, she had gotten up at 4 am two days in a row! We wanted to get first light, so a girl has to do what a girls has to do-hair and makeup don't do themselves! We spent the morning with our awesome driver and makeup artist going around to many different locations. It was so great to have both of them there. Bonin(?), the makeup and hair guru set Bae up on a bench in the middle of the sunflower field and started dolling her all up. I just loved that scene, and that it was what we were doing at that exact moment. And I loved how Bonin would give Bae artistic direction in Thai, so I never understood what he was saying- but I am pretty sure he was helping to make my vision become complete:) There was no way to narrow the day after session down, so here is the morning part of our Day After session. Enjoy!

Baby Love- Hayes

Little Jack has a new baby brother! Meet Hayes! Their little family of three is now four, but I know Mark and Gena now can't imagine it any other way. I went over to take Haye's picture last week when he was 6 days old. By the way, who agrees with me that Gena looks fabulous?! Yea, I know. She's gorg. I also designed his baby announcement which I am including the digital design down at the bottom for you to see. We did it on a 5x7 card on pearl paper- my fav.

For those wanting to schedule newborn pics- I really recommend we do this before the baby is 10 days old. There is something about taking their photo when they are so teensy tiny. The best thing to do is contact me before you are due to deliver to tentatively set a session date 'near' your due date- then call as soon as the baby is born and I will work you in if it outside of the 10 days of the date we had set. I know you will be tired and cranky...and tired....but trust me! It is so worth it!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Man what a gorgeous day outside! It is making for a great Vday so far. Tonight, I will be hanging with Joe, eating a great dinner, then watching The Bachelor( a girl has to have some guilty pleasures). I don't know how the day could get much better! Have a fabulous Valentine's Day everyone!
