Mandy and Bradley {Childress Vineyard Wedding Photographer}

Mandy and Bradley had an absolutely amazing wedding at Childress Vineyards. The heat had cooled off just a bit, the friends and family of these two are amazing, and the vineyard was the perfect backdrop for such a wonderful day. One of my favorite parts of the whole day was seeing Mandy with her sisters. They just made me smile all day long!!

Mandy and Bradley- so much love and happiness from Joe and I! Don't forget to click play on the last photo for a slideshow.

I can't wait to shoot these twos wedding in the spring! Abigail and Joe are so fun and I had a great time on our shoot together. We started out at Catawba College in the football stadium where Joe played football and then headed to more of my favorite spots around town. Enjoy!

Baby Love- Luke

If you are wondering why no love for the blog lately, it is because all this week I was visiting a sweet little boy, his family, and other friends out in Denver, CO....and all last week I was working to get out of town. I wanted to follow all of the internet safety rules and not notify all the robbers of the world that I was out of town...because, you know, they might want to steal Darby. I mean, I would! But, now I am back and back to blogging. There is so much in the docket that blog readers should be happy for weeks and weeks.

Up first, little Luke. Precious Precious Precious little boy! I love him!

this second shot on the right is SO very Luke.

my so-called life: kalie

Meet Kalie! I absolutely loved the vibe and feel of our session. Luckily, Kalie was up for anything, and for the special prop I brought. This chair came from a thrift store in Florida for, drum roll please.......$8! When I was in Fl the other weekend with my sister in law and Joe, we spotted this little hole in the wall store and Julia bought this chair. Well, Joe bought the chair because Julia didn't have any cash....then Julia flew home and couldn't take the chair...so then we drove the chair home....so that's how it ended up in my garage and in Kalie's photo shoot. Love!

Christmas Mini-Sessions- now booking!

Who is ready for comfy sweats, hot chocolate, and a drive through the mountains....me! I am so sick of the heat...I can feel the change happening. Yes! I'm pumped!

To be honest, it was just one long.hot.dreary.summer....period. The change in the air, and light, is making me so excited for what Joe and I have planned for our Christmas mini-sessions. Think: "the great outdoors meets your family living room", or something like that. These sessions are booking now. Don't forget to reserve your date today!
christmasminisession

Darby takes a swim

We took Darby to little Badin for the first time on Labor Day. She loved the water and had her very first swim. Lucky for her her mother was there to capture the moment...this is going in her baby book for sure...

my so-called life: tara

Meet Brooke, I mean Tara. But really, she gives Brooke Shields a run for her money in these photos!!! A total natural in front of the camera. We did an early morning session- which turned out to be a pretty cloudy day- but all I can say is it totally worked in our favor. The light on her face kills me in ever photo...literally. Enjoy all of this Friday eye candy over the holiday weekend!

I know I am going to get inundated with emails asking where both Kaitlyn and Tara got this amazing little red dress...so you can get one here. It comes in a couple different colors and looked amazing on each of them! Go Urban Outfitters! They have great clothes there for senior sessions and lots of fun accessories to jazz things up, too.tara4

my so-called life: shelby

Post 2! Shelby is an absolute doll. We had a great time and some of the most beautiful light I have had in a long long time! Then, to my great surprise, when we were talking about what to do for our shoot I learned that she was quite the ballerina. It didn't take much convincing to get her to put on her ballet costume and play for a little bit. Im in love...

3 senior blog posts today! First up: another beauty. Where does it stop around here?! Ashley was a total trooper through red ant hills and some serious humidity. Happy Friday!

I want her hair, too.

Henderson: Party of Eight

Honestly, I don't even know where to begin writing this post. It is a post about redemption, love, adoption, prayer, promises, fear, joy, faith and trust.

For nearly two years Mendy and David, along with their four biological children, have had their hearts and prayers pointed toward a set of twins at an orphanage in Ethiopia. With a heart for missions and adoption, David and Mendy knew upon the very first time of hearing about these two special children that they were to be the ones to give them a home. Unfortunately, everything that could have gone wrong in the adoption process did. The Ethiopian government and much corruption among adoption agencies has made the journey long, tiring, and oftentimes hopeless. After almost a year and a half of waiting on trials, court dates, and information, the whole family packed up for 6 weeks and traveled to Ethiopia to attend a court date that may or may not even happen-but one that could make Garrett and Tia an official part of their family.

On August 7th, all 8 of the Henderson Family stepped off a plane at the Charlotte Airport. Their church family, new grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins were all there to greet them, love them, support them and pray for them. I am thankful that I was there, that I was party to the outpouring of genuine love and affection. There really are no words...and I am feeling like what I have written is so lame compared to the significance of their story. It is bigger than any of us. It is a story of a God who loves us and brings us to himself.

Henderson's

A story was just written about them in the Charlotte Observer this week and for more of a first hand perspecitve of their journey you can read Mendy's blog. David is a pastor at University City Fellowship.

My so-called life: kaitlyn

Another cutie patootie! I love hanging out with such fun girls entering their senior year. Meet Kaitlyn! You may remember her teaser when I described her hair as "Taylor Swift" hair. Well, it's true. She can totally rock the Taylor look any day of the week.

Bellyshoot- Amy

Bellyshoots are one of my most favorite type of sessions. I love that there is a little baby inside that belly. I love the confidence that exudes from the mothers knowing that they are carrying new life. It is just a miracle and I love getting to celebrate with my clients. Amy and I had a blast on her session that we did one early morning at her family farm outside of Salisbury. The setting was perfect for a natural session and Amy totally rocked it out. I am absolutely in LOVE with these! Enjoy!
