Before Gean and Joe's wedding, we had decided to do a day after session instead of a bridal portrait for Gean. Boy was I glad we made this decision when the weather on their wedding day was super rainy and freezing cold! We got around to our session a couple of weeks ago, and all I can say is that Gean is my muse(Joe, you're not so bad yourself!) But seriously, Gean is one of my favorite people to take photos of...she makes my job so easy! Joe really hung in there in his tux on the hot and humid day we had. What a trooper! I just love this couple! Here are just some of my favorites from our session together...Happy Thursday!
I can't wait to share amazing images from Brooke and Patrick's wedding, but for now, check out some of her bridal portraits. We shot at the Orchard House, where they had their wedding reception. Such a cute spot local spot! Brooke surely knows how to work the camera. Enjoy!
I am in love with these photos of my sweet friend(and her sweet hubby!). We can't wait for the new addition to Lancaster & St. Louis. I am in love with these photos for many reasons, but one of the main ones being that all blonde's should wear red and it makes me really happy. Seriously, Hilary, you look amazing! Can't wait to meet the sweet little one that will be here in just a few short weeks!
In case you missed yesterday's announcement, the next workshop will be held on July 17. Scroll down to the next post to get all the juicy details!
For now, though, the moment you have all been waiting for! Here are some shots from my little sister's wedding. Joe took a lot of these, all the ones here of the ceremony, but I did manage to take a lot, too, in my snazzy bridesmaid dress. The day threatened rain, then cleared, then DID rain, right after Eric and LeAnn walked down the aisle as man and wife. The tent reception was covered, so we were just thankful to get the ceremony complete before the bottom dropped out. A couple of details to share: the flowers, the cake and decor were all by Barbara with From This Day Forward. Seriously, love her. I love working with her, she brings a calmness to every event, and all of that to say that her work is out of this world. Molly with Bella Amore did all the makeup- and let me just say we all looked fabulous!
We didn't get a planner, though in hindsight that may have been a good idea:) On top of the fact that Joe is just the best photographer and husband ever, he also made the cross that was at the end of the aisle. Yup, he is manly like that. He goes into the woods and chops down trees and makes crosses. He's hardcore. It was the exact look I wanted, er, I mean LeAnn wanted:) I have also had a lot of folks ask me about the shrug that LeAnn wore. The short of it is that she and my mom went to Mary Jo's(that gigantic fabric store in Gastonia) and bought lace they thought matched the dress and the dress shop seamstress made the shrug to LeAnn's measurements. I loved how it turned out. Ladies, think outside the box when picking out your dress- you can always add something that isn't there, and I think in this case it totally made her look complete.
There are more photos at the bottom of the post in the slideshow. Don't forget to watch!
Awesome cross Joe made. And now, can we all have a moment of silence for this cake that Barbara made. Seriously, speechless.
It poured, then cleared long enough for us to hop back outside for the bride and groom portraits.
Joe and I can't wait to teach the next Workshop! It will be held on Sunday, July 17th, 2011 at The Loft at 14th in downtown Concord. The date was announced yesterday to those on my workshop mailing list, and five of the spots are already taken, so there are now ten spots left. Be sure to email me if you want to reserve your spot today!
To be on the front end of all this news in the future, make sure you are a fan of Lindsey Lee Photography on facebook. This is where I announce special dates and keep you up to date on all things LLP in a more timely manner.
Here is what you need to know about The Workshop:
*The class will be from 3:00pm -6:30pm on July 17th.
*This is a class for beginner DSLR users. What if you don't have a digital SLR? Borrow one and come join the fun! The class is for people who have never "gotten off green" when using their camera to those who have read the owner's manual but still don't completely understand what the heck an f/stop is. (if you are reading this and have never even heard of an f/stop, this class is for you, too:)) It is not a class to become a professional photographer, but for those of you that just want to take better pictures with that fancy camera you have and actually understand what you are doing with all those buttons!
*There will be lots of one on one time and plenty of time for questions- then we will all practice what we have learned with a real LIVE model.
*Tuition is $150 and limited to 15 people(5 spots taken, so now 10 available). Email me at lindseyleelancaster@gmail.com to hold your spot. I will email you back holding your spot and confirming with you when the tuition is received. Due to the size and nature of the class, the tution is non-refundable.
On another note: The Workshop is not for those already in the photography industry or with a photography business. HOWEVER, I have begun offering mentoring sessions for budding photographers who need some additional time either working on shooting, business, workflow, OR you name it. Here is what one mentoring client had to say about LLP Mentoring:
"As a budding photographer, I exhausted all of my own resources and needed a professional "push" in the right direction. Until my time with Lindsey, I was completely self-taught and now know that mentoring with her was the first day of the rest of my career. Her knowledge and passion flows into her teaching which far exceeded my expectations. Anyone taking the plunge into professional photography can imagine the pure bliss in having someone as successful as Lindsey working side by side, shooting, improving technique, lighting and composition. No amount of online research, practice and dedication can surpass a true photographers experience in which Lindsey willingly shared without holding back. Since our mentoring session, my straight out of the camera images are as close to perfect as they have ever been and require very little editing. I have also completely restructured my pricing in a much simpler manner and implemented new marketing strategies into all areas of my business. My time with Lindsey was an investment into myself as a business owner, photographer and artist. I would not be where I am today without the wealth of knowledge she shared with me and I look forward to scheduling more time with her in the near future." Time and availability is limited so please email me for more detailed information regarding mentoring: lindseyleelancaster@gmail.com
I can't wait to meet the next bunch of workshop attendees! This has become such a fun time of learning and teaching! You can see more about the last workshop HERE. And because no post is any good with out a photo- here is a sneak peak of the gorgeous belly shoot that I had a couple of weeks ago with Dabid and Hillary. Stunning in red!!
Love this sweet, sweet family. Theses little cutie pies were the PERFECT age for photos and I am so glad we got to have a session together. Just the right amount of silly and sweet! Enjoy this whole family's cuteness:)
I promise we are going to get caught up on here soon! I am finally getting around to posting some of LeAnn's(sister extroidinaire) bridal portraits. She happens to be very photogenic, and the gorgeous wedding dress that I picked out for her didn't hurt either(it's my current claim to fame). Way too many favorites, so here are just some shots that I love. She played around alot with her hair, veil and shrug, so there are all sorts of looks. This is what I love about bridal portraits, the chance to get to try different things to see how you really want to look on your wedding day. Enjoy!
When bestie Kimberly was in town for LeAnn's wedding, little Driggs came along, too! I can't believe how much he is growing!! He is such a sweet and cute little boy. On the way back to the airport, we had a 5 minute(literally) photo session of him. Here are some of my favorites of my sweet little Driggsy-bear. To see just how much he has grown, you can look here or here.
Funny little boy faces:) He has some pretty crazy expressions and always uses his face to express himself.
